At the crossover campout, we held a contest to see which den could bring in the most fruit snacks for MUST ministries.

The winning Den will receive an ice cream party.

We had a tie! Dens 2 and 8 will receive an ice cream party soon, very soon.

The Pirates of Cherokee-Pickens – The Quest for Sunken Treasure Twilight Camp this summer. Cap’n Vernon and I can hardly wait to get the Blue Pearl out on the open seas of Calvin Farmer Park in Ballground. We’re busy planning this grand adventure! If ye’re a really brave and hearty sort, ye might think of asking to join up with our rag tag group of Old Salts*! The week of July 13 –17 will be here before ye blink an eye. So as not to be risking our ire, ARRRRGH, ye’ll be passing this application on to the parents of any bearded-pirates you know.

Don’t be the last to sign up or ye may just find yerself walking the plank!

*bearded-pirate = cub scout, lil-pirates are siblings (see application for more details), Old Salts are camp staffers

Ahoy me Hearties! Weigh anchor and hoist the mizzen or else prepare to walk the plank! The Pirates of Cherokee-Pickens are ready to set sail on The Quest for Sunken Treasure. Savvy? Grab yer eye patch, yer treasure map and scurry to the poop deck and get ready to splash into fun! Or else ye may just find yerself as fish bait on the way to Davey Jones Locker. Aaarrrgggghhhh!

Avast ye! Here’s a preview of some of the activities that will turn even the scurviest dog into an old salt before the week is out:

Build yer own boat to sail in the Rain Gutter Regatta

Build a Box Boat to set sail with yer buddy in yer den’s flotilla

Prepare to feed the fish as ye have a wet sponge war from yer boat

Grab yer Daily Treasure Map for yer quest for gold doubloons and pieces of eight

BB’s & Archery

Pirate crafts, Pirate songs, Pirate games and MUCH MORE!

Pack Meeting for March will be the Arrow of Light / Crossover Ceremony

All,

The Pack Meeting for March will be the Arrow of Light / Crossover ceremony for 4 of our Webelos. We will be meeting by the trailers in back of Hopewell Baptist’s main building. We are asking that all boys and leaders arrive at least 10 minutes early and are in FULL UNIFORM. This is the biggest day in a boy’s Cub Scout experience and we want to show our boys how proud we are.

Date March 2
Time 7:00pm

We will be outdoors, so you need to dress appropriately. Also, you will need chairs if you wish to sit.

Info about the Arrow of Light:

The Apex of Cub Scouting
The Arrow Of Light is the highest rank in Cub Scouting, and is the only badge of Cub Scouting rank that may be worn on the Boy Scout uniform.
To earn the Arrow of Light badge, a Cub Scout must earn the Webelos badge plus five additional Activity Badges from selected groups. The Webelos Scout must additionally satisfy five other requirements designed to prepare the boy for Boy Scouting.
Webelos Scouts that aspire to this achievement have worked very hard to get here. They deserve pomp and circumstance in an Arrow Of Light ceremony.
